::Neko thought for a moment. Where to begin?... She supposed it would be good to have a place to set equipment to keep it clean and dry. Some kind of table.
Pointing at the plank they had half dragged here, she then makes motions in front of her like laying something out flat. She looks at Hex questioningly...::

"Board... Flat... A table?"
Hex was getting used to Neko's miming, even though it almost made no sense to people who might have been watching. But there was no one watching them, hopefully...
Hex turned his focus now to the pile of raw materials down at his feet, and rumamged through it carefully to find certain materials for a table. He really didn't know what he needed to get. He doesn't know how to build a table...
"So Neko... what do you need? I really have no idea what the heck I am trying to find here..."

::With a slightly frustrated huff, she blows a lock of hair out of her face and walks over to the pile of supplies. Reaching down, she grabs up a handful of the used nails and holds them up for Hex to see.
She could tell that while he was able to help her carry things, when it came to the actual building, he was going to be little help.
Turning her back to her friend, her eyes run over the clearing, trying to think of the best spot to put the table. The log perhaps?...::

As Hex saw Neko come over rather... annoyed it seemed, she pulled up a hand of the nails.
"Oh okay! Gotcha..."
In reality, Hex didn't know how to build things... He knew how to follow blue prints though! He might not have a gift for thinking up things by himself, but he is good at following diretions... Maybe Neko should know that...
"I am not very good at making things up at the top of my head, Neko..."
He bent down to pick up another handful of nails, picking up any spares with his other hand.
"... but I sure know how to follow a blueprint. If you just tell me what to do, I can do it."

::She stuck the handful of nails in a fold in her clothing. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but it worked in a pinch and she would need both her hands free to move the board.
Walking over to the board, she picked up one end, looked at Hex and pointed towards the log.::

Hex followed Neko as he placed the nails into a small fold in his clothes, letting at least one hand free as the other help the nails in place. He looked over at Neko and saw her pick up the board, then point over to the log.
"Oh okay."
He walked over to the board and helped pick it up, looking towards the log. They started to walk towards it, he helped Neko place the board on the log and he got one nail out to start, when he realized they needed a hammer.

::She shrugs and shakes her head. Leaving Hex to hold the board in place, she walks the field, looking on the ground for something...
...Whatever she was looking for, she apparently found it. Bending down, she retrieves something from the grass. Returning to Hex, she holds out a good sized rock the size of a fist.::

Hex held the board rather non-challantly. As Neko went over to get something to work as a hammer, Hex laughed as he realized this was going to be easier than he thought.
"Hey, Neko, can you hold the board? I have an idea."
Hex lets the board balance itself on the log as Hex concentrated for just moments. He lifted rocks up with Earth magic just as Neko lifted one in her hand.
"If you can set up the nails, I can use all these rocks to hammer the nails in no problem!"

::Neko looks like she's not quite sure about this.
Shrug. What the heck, it was worth a try. It might even work...
She starts to set up the nails, using her rock to drive them into the wood just enough to make them stand on their own. A few nails were lost in the process, as they were so warped already that they bent instead of going in. She started enough to support the weight of the board, she hoped.
Wiping the sweat from her brow, she did a few more, just to be sure.
Once done, she stepped back and looked at Hex, still unsure. When he moves to drive the nails, she takes a few more steps back while he's not looking.::

As Neko placed each nail into the board, Hex smiled, just waiting for something innovative to occur. Using his Earth magic, he could wield rocks and use them as hammers, but not all at once. He would cycle between the rocks in a circular motion, as if using some sort of wheel to drive the nails in.
And so, as Neko finished, she walked away to observe (or so he thought) the magic. He concentrated, and picked out the five best rocks. Because he wasn't in his battle mode, this wa rather draining for him, but it would be worth hit. He put the five rocks in a circle and would drive one rock into the nail, then the next, letting the previous rock come up and circle the rocks in a ferris wheel type formation to drive each nail in place.
After a few minutes, his job was complete, and he was tired. Mentally, this was draining, and itw as only because he didn't get into the 'Mage Mindset' and thus his magic was extremely more draining. After the nails were fully in, he let the rocks down in a pile and just ploped down on teh grass, his back to the earth and his eyes to the sky, huffing and puffing.

::Smiles with more than a little relief. That had not been as painful as she thought it would be. Stepping forward again, she places her hands on the makeshift table and pushes it around to check if its secure. It wasn't great, but it would do for now, she supposed. With a nod of satisfaction, she quietly removed her weapons and armor and placed them gently on the board. The bulk would just get in her way as she worked and she wanted to get as much done as she could before dark.
Turning to face the rest of the clearing, she tried to think of what to do next. A sparing ring?...
Walking the clearing, she tried to find the flatest spot she could. Once satisfied, she knelt down in the grass and began pulling the blades out by the roots. She started by trying to make a circle to mark the edge. After that was done she would work on clearing the center, trying to take it all down to dirt if possible as it would make a better surface to move on than the tall grass. She was careful tho to try and save any wildflowers she came across. Maybe she could replant those somewhere else. Maybe her Uncle would like some...
It would be long, hard work, but she felt it would be worth the effort once it was all completed. She smiled to herself as she toiled, thinking of what her Uncle would think when he showed this to him.::

Hex laid down upon the grass, exhausted and very sleepy. his vision was blurry, and he had felt like, lack of a better word, crap. He had never used magic in that way before: out of combat. It was so taxing, it made him feel like a part of him was ripped open, like his innards have been ripped apart. In esscence, since he did not channel the opening of his magic, he had to force it open, which is like ripping open a wound rather than surgically and carefully opening it to get a bullet. He felt like throwing upm, he had a migrane, and he just felt sore all over.
He stood up and felt dizzy as he did so, feeling like all the blood rushed down from his head to his chest. He swallowed hard and rested his head in his hands as he sat there, trying to regain some form of posture. After a few minutes, he looked up at Neko, who was doing some sort of weeding around the area. She made a ring, perhaps marking an area or territory for it. In an effort to help, he stood up, semi-stumbling, and walked over to help her out, kneeling down and plucking at some weeds, watching her as she collected wildflowers, and following her example.
"Remind me, Neko... Never to... Use magic again... Like that..."
He breathed heavily as he continued to pull out the grass and save the flowers.
"Do you like... the flowers? Is that... Why you're saving them...?"
He continued to pull the weeds, his dizziness and illness seeming to get better over time, but it wasn't fast at all. It was gradual, but any little bit of relief was progress, and he felt at least a little happy about that.

::She shrugs and kinda nods her head from side to side in a "sorta" kind of way. It was hard to describe, especially without speech. She admitted that the flowers were pretty, but her main goal in sparing them was to show respect to the area she was going to use. Grass was one thing. A weed, easily replaced. Wildflowers, however, were something...more.
Even mulling it over in her head, it was hard to put into words. Her Uncle, and even Father, had taught her that balance was key in all things. To respect the Gifts given to her.
That was why she was trying to spare them, or at least honor them by making a gift of them. To show thanks and respect to the earth for this clearing she had found.
She continued at her work until her whole body ached. Sitting up to wipe the seat from her eyes, she noticed the sun had begun to set.::

He nodded as he knew that it wasn't really what she was doing but rather, it was close enough. Learning to understand Neko's motions and symbols really did kind of get easier as time went on spending time with her. He always had a respect for nature, and even when he was pulling the weeds out, he would put then in a nice pile so theyw ould be with all their weed friends, not dead but rather... passing on in another life. He separated the grass from the weeds and from the flowers, each one having it's own respective pile.
As time went on, he regained his internal energy back, feeling better every so often, but his physical body was getting tired. Pulling out weed after grass after flower and so on was tiring, and even more so in his current state. However, he continued to work even after Neko stopped, as she did get a head start. He didn't work for too long, though, as his body couldn't continue doing that kind of bent over, back aching work. It wasn't hard, but rather it was tedious, and very boring might I add.
As the sun set, he decided to take his rest. They had completed about half the area, give or take a few patches. He wiped the sweat off his brow and sighed in relief.
"You know, Neko, this is a lot harder than I thought..."

::She nods in agreement and gets to her feet, arching her back to stretch after she does. She looks at Hex and folds her hands together and places them to the side of her head. Leaning her head against them, she closes her eyes as if in sleep.
Opening her eyes, she looks at Hex and offers her hand to shake. She would not have been able to get near as much done today, had it not been for his help. They had got a good start on their work, but it was time to rest for a bit. It was already getting dark, and it would take time to get home before she could sleep. She promised herself she would be back here first thing tomorrow to continue.::
