I am going to look into a new domain name after this at FF:

Hello,
If you unpark it from your forum and wish to claim ownership of it you'll need to transfer it to another domain registrar such as www.godaddy.com

Then, you'll renew the domain through that registrar and it will have nothing to do with FF.org unless you then park it back onto your forum.

If you wish to do this, create an account with a domain hosting registrar such as www.godaddy.com and then email billing@freeforums.org requesting the "EPP" code for your domain.
A payment of $6 is required to do this, however, and is payable to payments@freeforums.org
Having sent this payment please include the transaction ID in your email to billing@freeforums.org so the process can be made as swift as possible.

I'd put in some money if I weren't employmentally-challenged right now.

Any new ideas on ways to promote the site and bring in new members and drag back old ones?

Someone here mentioned using twitter and facebook to promote among friends and that sounds like a good idea.

I would love to see membership rise and get the people we do have, but aren't "regulars", to participate more.

I'll see if i can get any of my steampunk friends to join and take on the clockwork tech thats been mentioned here. They might enjoy that.

Poppet is our admin who does recruiting through the usual web methods. It has been my experience that if it's not admin doing it, it doesn't get done. It's a slow thing though and as much as if we were to keep our noses to the grind stone, the most we can hope for is 2 people per week. Out of that, 1 in five will stick around for a time. That's just the numbers in this game.

I wouldn't get them too wound up on tech as it's been a constant headache and we don't allow massive elaboration or invention of new technologies and such. It's simply too much to constantly have to balance and worry about.

Have you thought about going back to Heroscapers.com and posting a link to see if we can draw people over like before?

Welcome to The Menagerie. We are a free role playing game with less rules and more freedom. After many years, a couple of hosts and a few different game systems, we feel that less is more. Players get to be truly creative, which in turn leads to more enjoyment in game.

We invite you to join us in crafting our world and look forward to making friends. Should you have any questions, feel free to post in our chat box or ask any of our members or staff.

May you enjoy your stay.

It must be said that this game is the product of continued dedication and friendship.

Grayell: Game inventor and closet basement geek.
Yukiko: Admin and dream-weaver.
Marlena: Admin and promoter extraordinaire.

The Menagerie has enjoyed many incarnations, revamps, reimaginings and renovations and none of it would have been possible without the ongoing support of my friends, the players. Their unwavering loyalty and endless dedication to this project has been stellar.

I would like to thank all admin and staff past and present, in particular Tiberius.

I would like to thank friends and staff no longer with us, and to the few I hold most dear: John, Roland, Alex, Azriel and Jenkins.

Thank you all.
