The Menagerie play by post RPG would like to thank both Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson for their Dungeons & Dragons role playing game. They made the world that much more fantastic.

Re: Consequence « Result #3 Yesterday at 8:47pm »
Kiga understood what Grayell was getting at. He recalled that period of his life quite clearly, as it was both confusing and captivating. Grayell came into Kiga's life as reason, a cause and an idol. It was through him that Kiga found the inner determination to free himself of his oppressive elders. And it was dangerous. There was a great deal of bloodshed in hiding in Grayell's shadow and the whole while, the man who seemed little more than a common pirate was both resolute and unsurmountable in his cause. It baffled Kiga for the longest time.
"Yes. It was as you told me then. Should he be killed, the surrounding states would turn the prefecture into a battlefield. In the war to obtain his lands, his people would suffer. Many innocents would die."
Prior to that moment, Kiga had not questioned his orders. He had been told to kill and he had done so. Never did he think to question the why, or the moral integrity of his elders. He knew very well that they had none. Grayell was different and had proven himself so time and time again since. Yes, he'd had Kiga kill. But there was never no reason, no cause and no complete and utter conviction that there was not a better way.
Kiga was an assassin with a conscience. Where it not so, he would not have felt such remorse at the death of an old stranger.

Re: Ely's Place « Result #4 Yesterday at 8:38pm »
Kiga would have grabbed her by the hand and scooped her up, only to run out the door and take to the rooftops... if it wouldn't have caused something of a scene. So instead, he sat there and behaved like he very well should and found himself blushing as Ely pressed her lips to his. Kiga was loud and enthusiastic, but never tried to act too disorderly (or at least, he didn't think so). So he was quite reserved, though hardly lacking in passion when he returned that kiss.
Still, it left him breathless and even as she took her seat once more, he sat there, feeling like his head might spin off his shoulders. Wide eyed, his heart racing much too fast, he shook his head to rattle his senses back into their proper order and coughed. He was still quite red and found himself looking about, trying to find something to distract himself as he was quite sure he looked quite silly.
"Oh. We should order some food, shouldn't we? What would you like? The food that's on fire?"
It didn't sound nearly as enchanting in Kiga's words, but it certainly sounded interesting nonetheless.

Re: The sword. « Result #5 Yesterday at 6:16pm »
Grayell wasn't in a hurry to take on what was, quite clearly; the easiest way to get himself killed. So instead, he decided he would investigate the area far more thoroughly and only climb the cliff as a last result. He was a very capable climber and could likely make it, but it was foolish to do something so reckless without proper equipment. (How tall is said cliff?)
He began to wander, searching for other options. A trail up the cliff, an easier place to climb, something that would aid in his climb such as some decent rope or sturdy vine. He'd just as soon swim to lower land in the ocean, that take on the risk the climb presented.

The shop owner did much the same in terms of his expression and his voice took on a rather cooler tone.
"Well I imagine they were in need of gold. Perhaps they got themselves into a spot of trouble, after making some wild accusation or another. As I am in the business of dealing with paying customers and you don't look to be capable of paying, it's time you left."

Re: The Profits « Result #8 Yesterday at 5:55pm »
The receptionist blinked twice as it stared at the scrap of paper with the poor handwriting, not sure if this scene was really happening. There was short cat looking thing standing at the door with a handwritten note about wanting to help, you almost wanted to see if her mother was in the building. Seeing as there was nobody but lizard folk, that wasn't likely.
It was difficult to read the expression on the receptionist as she stared blankly at the piece of paper. Neko could feel an air of awkwardness as the gaze lingered, before the lizard finally spoke again,
"You, you can go upstairs, third floor, and see Krissss."
Given the rumble coming from the floor above her, it was just as busy and hectic up there as Neko was seeing now before her.
With a last hiss, the receptionist gave one last piece of advice, "Careful on your way up, our employeesss don't alwayss remember to look down."

Welcome to The Menagerie. We are a free role playing game with less rules and more freedom. After many years, a couple of hosts and a few different game systems, we feel that less is more. Players get to be truly creative, which in turn leads to more enjoyment in game.
We invite you to join us in crafting our world and look forward to making friends. Should you have any questions, feel free to post in our chat box or ask any of our members or staff.
May you enjoy your stay.
It must be said that this game is the product of continued dedication and friendship.
Grayell: Game inventor and closet basement geek.
Yukiko: Admin and dream-weaver.
Marlena: Admin and promoter extraordinaire.
The Menagerie has enjoyed many incarnations, revamps, reimaginings and renovations and none of it would have been possible without the ongoing support of my friends, the players. Their unwavering loyalty and endless dedication to this project has been stellar.
I would like to thank all admin and staff past and present, in particular Tiberius.
I would like to thank friends and staff no longer with us, and to the few I hold most dear: John, Roland, Alex, Azriel and Jenkins.
Thank you all.
