Kiga smiled when she sat down and might have swallowed a little nervously with her so close. He might also have found the thumping in his head to have been subdued by his daydreaming about her naked in the moonlight in the hot springs...
He shrugged and then leaned to his side, resting his head upon her shoulder.

Ely closed her eyes while her heartbeat took command of her hearing. She was afraid to move. No. She did not wish to move or disturb him.
As a child Ely had never been still enough or patient enough to coax birds out of the trees. That had been true; too, seven years ago when she first met Kiga. She had learned patience, though. Oh, she was still animated in voice and gestures and those became more or less expansive based on her excitement level. Ely's face was an open book, too. Her eyes the preview of what was inside.
She turned slowly and only with the lower half of her body. She looked at Kiga and forced the hand that wanted to brush against his face to remain still. Do not startle him now, Ely. Those were the words in her head. The ones she said out loud were completely different.
“Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.”

Kiga chirped quietly, happily and simply stayed there for a time, close to her. How many times he wished for this, when lonely or cold, alone or tired... he'd never wanted just a someone to be there. No, he thought of firey red hair, those green eyes, that delicate smile and those ears...
He laughed a little nervously then and sat up slowly, stretching to shrug it off. He looked about the room groggily, then rubbed his eyes.
"It's getting late. I'm not keeping you up, am I?"

Ely was not the least bit tired or have in any interest in... sleep. But, Kiga's words brought up a pleasing mental image. She would not mind at all if he were to curl up against her and sleep. In fact, her hands were itching to pull him closer. Something she was still trying to ignore.
"No. You are not keeping me awake. Are you tired?"
He looked tired. He also looked cute and adorable and... so very... very tempting. Gods. If she indulged these thoughts too much more she would regress backward and do something utterly silly like braid his hair or... something.

Ely blinked at him. She was certainly not going to name anything no matter what he might say. If she said what she really wanted to do he would probably run and never come back.
"Um... you don't want me to say anything Kiga. I mean, what if I decided i wanted to set the Sentinel building on fire?"
She did not truly want to set the building on fire, even thought that blue woman lived there these days. She was just saying it to shock him, plus, it was the only thing she could come up right now besides... other things.
Ely brushed her hands down over her dress and tried to look at everything but him.

Kiga chuckled and shrugged.
"Well you know, I'm not one to refuse such a pretty lady."
He scratched his own head and blushed just a little. His interaction with Ely was a give and take, a sincere desire to flatter her... amongst other things, battling those nerves that crept up all too frequently when she touched him and so on.
At best, his compliments were awkward, though no less sincere.
"But really. I mean it. Anything at all. Or we can just stay here if you like."

Ely pulled her knees up to her chest. She wrapped her hands around them, too, lacing her fingers together. It would keep her from doing something stupid. She hoped.
"Do you mind if we stay here, Kiga? I... I missed you. There is nothing I would rather do than talk to you."
Liar, liar pants on fire. Well, she wasn't wearing pants. But, if she was? They would most definitely be on fire. Err... not actual flames but... you know... um. Ely wished to do other things that involved their mouths besides talk.

Kiga blushed a little and then nodded eagerly. He didn't know what to with his hands either and was getting somewhat fidgety, sitting on the ground by the tree. He tried to look elsewhere but couldn't seem to help himself from look at her repeatedly, trying not to be rude and hopelessly staring at her then looking at something entirely uninteresting again.
"Oh. Heh. I missed you too. So... what should we talk about?"

Ely let go. That is, she peeled her fingers off her knees and stretched. She was not going to let this get to her. This was her house, right? Yes. She should be relaxed in her own place. Even if the man next to her was... well... her boyfriend? Where they even friends?
AHHH!
Ely folded her shoulders back and twisted around. She ended up resting with her head on the floor between the roots and her feet extending up into the air and resting upon the tree trunk.
"What did you do before coming to Wistvale, Kiga? You know, I mean the first time?"

Kiga slumped a little then, that was not a happy topic. He'd spent the last seven years seeing to burying those ghosts and had no intention of revisiting his past. Still, she'd asked and he didn't want to sit here in silence.
"Oh... you know, this and that. Grayell spent a lot of time with me and asked if I'd come to Wistvale with the promise of work."

Ely saw the slump, it took the animated expression off his face. That bothered her. Obviously, he did not want to talk about the past. Fair enough. Maybe she was too curious. But, she could not help wanting to know.
Ely released a quiet sigh, one she hoped he did not hear.
"Grayell?"
She wasn't sure she knew the person he was speaking about.

Had she met someone like that? She loved meeting people. They were so chaotic. You never knew what they might get up to. Big guy with white hair. Ely could not remember. Truthfully, if any white haired guy had her attention it was him, not this Grayell person.
"Um maybe?"
She had been buried in her books for months. And the last time she had been in Wistvale, seven years ago, she hadn't given a damn about anything but Kiga.

Kiga laughed a little and scratched at his head... then shuffled to join her, laying beside her on his back with his feet resting up on the tree. He looked at her with enamored amusement and then back up to the tree that loomed over them.
