The Menagerie play by post RPG would like to thank both Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson for their Dungeons & Dragons role playing game. They made the world that much more fantastic.

*gives Simeon an epic high-five* Been recently playing Generations myself... I've been enjoying it, but others seem to hate on it for no legitimate reason... haters gonna hate, I guess... Other than that, I'm staving myself off from Zelda with Dark Souls... then, hopefully, going to get something jolly good for my 3DS...

I like Hellgate. It's a good mindless hacknslash + shooter. Very little strategy except for loot and item enhancement. It's probably more fun if you get a party of friends and run through dungeons together. It also looks cheap from what I've seen. Free up through act 2 then $4 for each expansion after that. I've finished act 1 fairly quickly and they just released the second expansion.
I pre-ordered Skyward Sword and from what I've seen so far I'm very impressed (So was IGN! And they HATE Nintendo!!!). I plan to get the 3DS Sonic Gen as well. I think it'll still be fun. I don't have a 3DS game yet... I almost bought StarFox but then realized I had no monies... or job.

lol, you know it! Her channel is pretty awesome, I have to say... lots of videos... @___@
Yeah, on the edge of my seat with that... Really want to play it, but I am not getting my hopes up since I am in the same position as you are... *sigh* Hopefully, I can still get Sonic Gen for 3DS... I was in that same position for a second (having no 3DS game), then I decided to buy DOA Dimensions back when I had money (and nothing else was out... not that it's a bad game...).

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim in the past months. I love creating new characters with interesting gameplay quirks and limitations. Like a Wood Elf hunter (who Naradel is loosely based on) that strictly follows the Green Pact, meaning she can't eat or harm anything made of plantstuff and therefore can only use meat and animal parts as food or for making potions. Or a kleptomanic Khajiit who only takes what she can steal and never buys anything. Or a paranoid self-taught High Elf mageling on the run from the Thalmor, who is forced to be completely self-reliant because it's just too risky to go anywhere near civilization etc etc.
Other than that I've been slowly going through my second Mass Effect 3 playthrough (Renegade Fem!Shepard) and I recently finished Bastion, which I'd strongly recommend to anyone because it's simply amazing.

I second Naradel's reccomendation of Bastion. One of the greatest pieces of evidence in the argument for video games as an art form. One of my favorite recent games, and one I cannot reccomend highly enough.

Bastion's great, but the combat is pretty standard. I'd say it's a game with plenty of artistry in it, but it's a little too derivative to be really held up as art in and of itself (though in my opinion all games are art, but I'm playing Devil's Advocate for all those on Roger Ebert's side of the fence). Best thing about Bastion is the dynamic narration. Weaving story and gameplay together? U doin it rite!
I'm currently on a strategy game kick, with CitiesXL 2012, Starcraft 2, Dawn of War II (yay Steam sale!) and just gotten hold of Sins of a Solar Empire and War Plan Pacific. Sinking 20 odd hours into Civ 5 recently and listening to Three Moves Ahead is probably what's done it. I'm trying to get some kind of long-form grand strategy thing going between me and some friends, but don't know which game to try and get going.

Yeah, I'd say the combat was Bastion's... well I wouldn't say its weakest side, but it was certainly the least impressive. The storytelling and the art style were what made the game memorable for me.
Personally I can't wait for the new Simcity and SC2: Heart of the Swarm to come out already. I'm starting to crave my strategy fix as well.
Oh yeah, how could I forget the excellent soundtrack! *slaps forehead*
I think I'll try giving Team Fortress 2 another go. Usually after big updates there's a brief influx of players who like me are not as amazingly skilled as the veterans, so hopefully my own fails aren't as noticeable by comparison. If anyone wants to add me for some strange reason, my name's Shakali.
While there are still a few days left on the Steam Summer Sales, I'm curious to know what (if any) games you guys have bought thanks to those massive discounts.
As for myself, so far I've gotten Alan Wake, L.A. Noire Complete Edition, Star Wars: KOTOR, Dear Esther, The Trine Bundle and Stacking, all for just 28€, or $34. Blessings of Arkay upon ye, kind sirs at Valve.
