Kiga looked a little miffed at that comment then and got up from his chair. He spoke as he wound his way through the furniture and out of the room.

"I'll have you know, I'm quite good at... beds... yeah. So there."

Marlena laughed then at that comment, black waves bouncing as her head leaned back slightly. He was adorable. A large house, practically empty. She would have to find some entertainment for herself and harmless tormenting was fun. The thought made her smile as she called out after him, lifting the papers again to read.

Oh, I'm sure you are, Kiga... I bet you are brilliant.

Kiga scowled, just a little. He was hardly uncivilized, just because he preferred the company of a roost or clock tower than a crowded, smelly house...

He wandered through the house, looking into each room in a half-hearted effort to find a bedroom that might appeal. This wasn't his house though, so Marlena might need to fill in some details....

(hint hint)

Marlena look up to the ceiling as if she could she through it. A few of the doors creaked some as they opened and closed again, the sound louder in the otherwise silent house. She couldn't even hear his footsteps. Either curiosity or annoyance at his indecision spurred her to rise from her seat and walk out of the sitting room.

She place her foot on the bottom step of the stairs and winced slightly as it made a hideous creak, the ones following not being so bad thankfully. Reaching the top she watched Kiga close yet another door.

Kiga... Follow me. I think I know one you might like.

She nodded to gesture down the hall in the opposite direction before turning and making her way there herself.

Turned to spot her, then nodded and followed without a word. He looked curious though, not only due to what she might be talking about but also that she'd bothered to offer some help.

He didn't know her really, but she was agreeable enough. He did wonder just what antics could be expected sharing a home with her. Seems this whole Tryst thing was quite the big deal. He only knew he was to help her with whatever she needed and be damn sure she didn't get into trouble he couldn't resolve.

That he could do. She didn't seem like she needed protecting per se, but he was more than capable of keeping her and their home secure.

Marlena looked back over her shoulder once, only to check if he was following. He was far too quiet, but she figured she would get used to it. She led him down the corridor to a heavy, dark wood door at the far end, reaching for the round handle, turning it and stepping inside.

The room was large and didn't have much furniture, but it was at the corner of the house and had large windows on two walls. She stepped to the window nearest to her and pushed open the drapes before moving to the second and doing the same, the room being flooded with natural light.

The walls were plain, just a pale mint green. Simple compared to the others in the others in the house. She didn't think he was the type to like a lot of fuss.

What do you think?

Kiga paced in the room, looking about and taking in the plain enough features of what would be his own space. That was an odd thing, him having his own space... in a proper building. Where he belonged.

He looked to those windows though, his eyes lighting up as the sun broke through the opening drapes. Without a word, he reached past her and opened the large windows, the leaned out to look outside. He smiled, just ever so slightly... then lifted a hand and yanked himself from the room. He folded upward and found the roof, then stood atop the building, looking into the distance. The sun bathed him in warmth as the the breeze ruffled his hair - a shrill call broke from the few clouds above.

He looked up to see a hawk, circling something unseen below and he smiled.

His head reappeared in the window, just his head as he hung low enough to look to Marlena with a boyish smile.

"Thank you. I like it."

Marlena watched him move about the room, looking for any sign he didn't like it, but she wasn't worried about it, she had chosen this room for herself because of how open and light it was. She had a feeling Kiga disliked being in closed spaces as much as she did. There was another room similar at the other end of the manor, it was a little darker but could be changed with patience, so giving him this room didn't bother her much.

Laughing as he disappeared out of the window, she stepped towards the bed, setting herself on the edge, her fingers smoothing the dark green blanket at her sides. Her thoughts drifted to the papers full of names, one standing out more than others, plans coming together for a visit she would make some time soon. It would be better to be on the good side of someone such as him, if the papers downstairs were anything to go by. Not the most powerful of members, but a reoccurring player most definitely.

The smile on her lips widened as he looked through the open window to her and she stood, wandering over to lean against the window frame. Arms crossed, she relaxes and looks out to the trees, not paying too much attention to the man hanging upside down but speaking softly to him.

You're very welcome, Kiga.

I have a few people I want to go visit soon, Kiga. Tryst members. You're welcome to come along. I know Grayell said you were supposed to look out for me.

I don't wish for you to feel as if you must stay by my side constantly though. I'm usually pretty good at getting out of sticky situations.

He shrugged, which is an unusual thing when you're upside down, then warbled as he slid from whatever he was hanging by and sat instead at her feet, legs draping out the window. He too watched the view, leaned back with his arms behind him.

"Nah believe me, you won't even know I'm there. Unless you want to. Or something. But sure, I don't mind."

Marlena watched him as he settled. He was fascinating. Strange in his own weird way, but she wouldn't find herself getting bored of having him around. Little mannerisms and the sounds to learn. It would be fun.

I have a feeling that people only get to know of your presence when you wish them to, Kiga. Your little trick of getting into the manor earlier. You didn't follow Grayell in. Either you sneaked in somewhere, or you were here before and I never noticed. I wonder which.

Kiga placed his elbows on his knees and planted his chin in his palms, his feet swinging from the window ledge. His eyes were on the sun, hair gently flapping back and forth in the breeze. It seemed to soothe him. held him captive.

"I can't tell you everything. Then you'd think I was pretty boring, huh?"

He smiled a little, being silly.

Kiga may have been intently watching the sky, but Marlena's eyes were on him. He was sweet, far too adorable. Almost child like in ways. Smiling back at him she gave a soft laugh, reaching down to ruffle his hair before turning to head towards the door.

I'm pretty good at sneaking around, Kiga. But you, well. You do it so damn well, I'm rather jealous.

You'll have to teach me sometime.

Kiga blinked his eyes a few time, somewhat surprised at her touching his head so casually.

But it was also nice... in that he was going to be living with Marlena and she seemed honestly good natured, likeable. Even if he did have just as many points in Physical Appeal as her. (Hah!)

So he turned to watch her leave with a smile, slowly getting to his feet.

"Yeah sure. We can do that, whenever you like. Or have the time. You're going to be pretty busy I imagine."

She stopped at the doorway, a hand on the frame as she looked back over her shoulder, a slight grin forming on her lips. Her eyes went to the window, the sun still fairly high and then they would have the night. She would be up early to go speak to members of the Tryst, but she'd had enough of looking at papers for now. They could wait.

How about now? I've looked over the papers enough for one day. And I'm more than curious to find out what tricks I can learn from you.

Kiga looked up with a chirp, a little surprised. He thought about that for a second and then nodded, shrugging one shoulder. He tumbled backward from where he sat in the window, coming up onto his feet with fluid ease.

"Um sure! Whatcha wanna learn?"
