 Shark on the Town
« Thread Started on Jul 3, 2012, 1:08pm »

The Tavern was nice, but very smelly, too much musk and alcohol. Plus they all looked like they wanted to hurt poor Fores, was it something he said? Was it everything he said? Probably, no one likes his brand of fun anymore, the Iron Jester was without a good jest. "Woe is me! Woeth is me! Hehehe, is poor Fores thinking aloud once more?" He strode through the town with spring in his step, humming an off-key melody that was distinctly foreign in its sound.

He was already far away from the centre of town, and had strayed into a string of shanty-houses. Many with small crates or stumps, or in his eyes, footplants. He stopped, and made a beeline for the nearest crate. Getting low, he started with a steady sprint, progressing towards a faster breakneck speed. He leaped onto the crate, planted his hands on the roof, vaulting onto the ceiling, and sped on with the same momentum. The house was small, there wasn't enough space to enjoy the run. He leaped from the very edge of the roof, hanging in the air for a split second, marking out his landing spot. He dropped into a parkour roll, picking himself up, making a split-second course change. He dropped off of the left side of the house, dropping into another roll to absorb the shock.

"Oh, that was great, great i say! HAHA!" He did a small victory jig, making a great ruckus in the process.

A small, grey-haired man popped out of his shanty, stairing at the masked, grey-skinned figure in his yard. "WATCH IT!" He shouted, "Your jigging is sodding up my Petunias!" He waved a hoe above his head, aiming it at the crazed being.

Fores, came to halt, his gaze landing on this figure. "sodding Petunias?" He said, "I LIVE FOR THE SODDING OF PETUNIAS!" He cartwheeled through the patch, and picked one up and bit the the flower off. "Farewell, Petunia man! HAHA!" Fores ran off, looking for more shanties and chaos.

::Neko was out discovering the town when she heard what sounded, to her, like a chase followed by yelling. Crouching low, she moves quickly, but quietly in the direction the noises were coming from.

Upon nearing the area, a more rundown section than she had found in her roamings so far, she decides to find a better vantage point to see whats going on. She springs partway up the wooden building beside her. Her claws biting into the wormeaten windowsill she uses for purchase. She leaps once more and scrambles onto the roof. Keeping low to the roof, she looks about for the source of the comotion.::

"I am the King of the World! HEHE!" He shouted, or screamed, which was his general tone, "Hehe, i love this town! LOVE LOVE LOVE!"

He made a quick turn towards the nearest house, he planted a foot on a box outside door. Launching himself into the air and grabbing onto a handhold on the roof. He leapt onto the surface, traversing it easilly, leaping onto the next roof with relative ease...

Only to smash through the roof and into a very intimate moment between a couple. "D'you mind?" One of them shouted, as they retreated under the covers.

"Many pardons my friend! MANY PARDONS!" He shouted, he shot out of the door and into the street. He bolted through the street, looking for another handhold to launch himself intot another run.

::Neko caught sight of the of the figure as he move across, then down thru, the rooftops. A bit of light reflecting off his metal mask as he fell.

She narrowed her eyes and shook he head in disgust. She was neither pleased nor surprised to find the sharkman at the center of this. Looking about for the quickest route, she took off across the rooftops to try and head him off, her much lighter frame barely disturbing a shingle...::

He stopped in the middle of the street, his head darting around, scanning for his pursuers. "C'mon, ye lily livered scaliwaggeroons, come at me with all ye got!" He stood in the middle of the street, laughing boldly behind his iron mask. "If ye have the heart, come and face me!"

::On the rooftop behind him, a diminutive figure rises to her feet and leaps softly to the ground, placing a hand out as she lands for stability. Standing, she squares her shoulders and approaches the sharkman not bothering to hide. She keeps her body loose as she moves in case he decides to run again.

Even tho the lower half of her face is hidden, the look in her eyes is all anyone needs to see to know she is not pleased.

She stops a few feet from the bellowing brute. Crossing her arms before her and tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for him to take notice.::

He knew someone was behind him, even though his senses were less than accurate. He spun round and spread his arms wide. "Well hello there!" he screeched, he recognized the Cat from the tavern, and his eyes sparkled cheerfully. "Neko-mi-lass! How're ye this fine evening!"

Even through his crazy, distorted view of things, he noticed she was unhappy. "Oh cheer up! Ye fluffy grumpaloon, i've shown these lasses and laddies a new brand of fun!"

::She shakes her head. Still tapping her foot, she jabs her finger towards Fores, then in the direction of the house whose roof he crashed thru followed by a "move along" gesture. All that was missing was the "tsk tsk" to complete the irate mother image.

She had met his like before, and never could learn to put up with them. No honor. No self control. No focus. In all likelyhood he'll be dead before the next turn of the moon. But she would be sure he picked up after himself before then...::

"What, the hole in the lovely couples roof? Its their own fault, should've built a better one, i shan't clean it up! I SHAN'T!" He crossed his arms like an upset toddler, and looked back at her damning gaze. "Ok fine, i'll go help." He said sharply.

He slunk over to the house, as slowly as possible, his shoulders and face drooping. Until his eyes lit up with a sudden jolt of energy, an idea, a new concept he just had to exercise. "Say, lass, i noticed the mask ye wear across yer face. I'll clean the lovely couples house, oh yes, i shall. But first, i want to stage a little exchange." The calm smirk on his mask matched the unnerving tone of his voice, "I'll show you whats under my mask, and clean the house free of charge. But you must show me your face."

::Without pause, she pulls down her mask, revealing her feline nose and mouth. Smiling confidently around her sharp teeth, she points again to the damage the sharkman had caused.

If he had thought to shame her, he was mistaken. She was not ashamed of what she was. She just knew that not everyone reacted the same way towards people that were...different.

She reaches out to try and smack him across the back of his leg to move him along quicker. Smiling the whole time. She was going to enjoy this...::

"So you're more Catlike than i thought, didn't expect that. Your fangs are sharp, but mine... are sharper..." He pulls back his mask, opening his deep black spherical eyes. His nose was simply a pair of holes near the top of his head, and his mouth was a toothy grin made up of small sharklike fangs. His grey skin was almost alien, but was complimented by a pure white underbelly. "And now... now." He said forebodingly, "haha! For cleanliness and scrubbery!" He screeched, hopping over to the house without hesitation, a shrill greating prepared.

::She follows him inside, bowing in respect to the owners of the damaged building before turning back to the Sharkman. She points to the hole in the roof and all the broken debris littered within the room, then leans back against a support post and crosses her arms once again while she waits.::

::tap tap tap goes her foot, impatiently.::

"Salutations!" He yells ecstatically, "I'm here to cleaneth your household"

"Okay..." the Homeowner said, half dressed, "Ummm... you do realize you're..." He pauses, staring at Fores's sharklike face. "Actually no, i've seen Giant Lizards come through these parts, you're not even that strange to be fair, did i say that out loud?" He points to the mess left by Fores's ballistic entry, "You can start by rebuilding this section of roof, you'll have to work off the damages of course, but finally, stay the HELL away from my house."

"Don't be a spoilsport sir! I'll have it done in jiffy!" Fores shouts confidently.

"Do you have to talk so damn loudly?" The Homeowner shouts, "Just clean it up, and go... please."

Fores gives an enthusiastic nod, and picks up the wooden debris left by his entry, he holds the wooden rafters in place. Using depth and focus he'd never shown before, even the broken and twisted nails slotted in nicely. He shut his eyes momentarilly. His body going still, but his heart speeding up. Slowly, the nails clicked into shape, one by one they straightened out. Fores took his hands off, and the rafters held steady.

"By the Gods, a Metal Mage." The Homeowner said in disbelief.

"Ack! MIGRAINE!" Fores shouted, grabbing his head and running out of the door.

"Hey! HEY, get back here you miserable fish! You haven't put the roofing up yet!" The Homeowner grabbed his belt, readying it like a battleaxe. "That damn fish!"

***
Fores rubbed the fresh bump on his head, growling quietly. "Yes yes, all the planks are in order." he mumbled.

"They better be... and if you think of using that hocus pocus on me i'll smash your sharky face until you can't swim straight!"

::She smiles to herself. She could not have said it much better even if she could talk. Pushing herself away from the support post, she bows once again in respect to the home owner before walking over to the sharkman. Swatting him on the leg to get his attention again, she points out the door.::

"What about the door?" He shouts, "why do you have to hit me all the time, i mean i'm a fish and you're a cat but can't we just work things out and-"

The Homeowner shoots his head back round the door, "Hey! the locks broken you idiot! Work that hocus pocus over here or i'm having fish fillets tonight!"

Reluctantly, Fores worked his way over to the the door, ready to start his clean-up.
