Hex became relaxed as both the woman and man decided to just step down. He shrugged his shoulders and put his hands behind his head, as if resting from the beating sun. Sighing, he looked over at both the man and woman, still confused as to what just happened.
"So... Did I just interject myself into some sort of relationship quarrel cause it seems like whatever just happened was rather... strange..." It just didn't flow in Hex's brain: whatever just happened that is. He kicked a few pebbles as he kneeled down and picked one up, just for the sake of rememebring this moment. He turned his attention now the the bleeding woman, as his pebbles had bruised her and left her with some blood on her head. He walked up to her and inspected it.
"I have no experience in bandaging or disinfecting, but I think you should get that checked out..." Hex was left relatively unharmed in this whole endeavor, and feeling kind of useless, found himself just pondering what would have happened if he didn't come in.
"So... You two were fighting, I come in to help this cat woman, and now right as you two are tired, you decided to stop fighting? What is this, some type of show? What is going on here?" Not knowing of Fores/Feros' changing sides, he leaned up against a random tree in the area, waiting for a response as he thinks he deserved one. A thorough, logical response.

"It's difficult to explain, but i'll do my best." Feros sat down, and placed his hands over his knees, and stared into the distance. "There are two... beings in my head, i am one of them. Fores was fighting Neko, and i, Feros, was trying to stop Fores from keeping control of my body. Fores is a reflection of my own being, created after a magic ritual went wrong, at least... i think it did." He stood up, trying to dust robes down. "I was a Monk, at a great Temple, created by my people. We worshipped a Great Being, the Karkauea. A powerful Shark that roamed the oceans near our tribal homeland. The Five Greatest Warrior-Monks guarded the secret of taking the form of the Karkauea, by absorbing part of its spiritual essence, its Himaka, as we call it. I was one of these Monks, and they chose me to be the Avatar of the Karkauea, but something must've gone wrong, and now i find myself in this town. With that Cat-woman, Neko, and Fores was inside my head."

::She waves off Hex's comments. Yes she was hurt and tired, but it was nothing that couldn't wait, in her opinion. Of much greater importance was to try and find a way to help Feros stay in control. Using the time to catch her breath and gather up her kunai, she listens patiently to the story the sharkman has to tell hoping to find some clues there that could aid them.::

"So Fores is like you but crazy..."
Hex had questions a plenty as he continued to be informed of the current situation. He had no idea what was happening and who what who, but he dared asked some more questions.
"So your name is Feros... And Fores is your crazy side... And sometimes he comes out and you have no idea what happens after that... Correct?"
He now turned to the cathian in purple, with a rather confused look on her face.
"So... Do you know Feros personally or is this just some random attack on you? What started all of this?!"

::She points to Feros, then runs in a few small circles waving her arms about crazily. When she stops, she looks sadly at the sharkman and shrugs her shoulders, having meant no offense by the display but having no other way to comunicate.::

"Putting it mildly, yes" He said to Hex, "But... i haven't been myself in a long time, this is the first time i've been out since... well, Fores was 'created'." He picked up the iron mask, and rolled it around in his hands. "I don't even know what this is, or how i got it."

::Neko scratches her fingers in the loose dirt of the street making figures. Her writing is very childlike in appearance with some of the letters even being backwards. It didn't help that she was trying to write upside down so Feros could read it better. What she wrote read...::

Feros shook his head, "The Ritual that shattered my mind and created Fores is Old Magic, i imagine only the Temple Monks know what can be done about it." He started thinking, and mulled the mask around in his fingers. "However, maybe the a particularly learned mage could tell give me more insight, but this land is foreign to me, i wouldn't know where to find one."

Hex nodded as he continued on with the conversation between Feros and himself, the cat lady not really ever talking. Was she a mute?
"Ms. Cathian Lady, are you by chance mute? Or are you sick and unable to talk?"
After a few seconds, he turned back to Feros and scratched his head. Perhaps there was something that Hex could do to help out, perhaps figure out a way to help control his inner Fores.
"I am no doctor, Feros, but I certainly know some things that help keep a sharp mind, and maybe that'll help. I am sorry as to say I don't know much about where you're from or what happened, but it does ring a bell, I do believe that there is an answer. Perhaps we could visit a doctor, as Neko(?) suggested."
As Hex spoke, he had read what Neko had written, which reminded him of a child of some sorts. Perhaps there was a reason as to why they were brought here together, and Hex felt like he needed to do something rather than sit around all day anyways.
"You know, if you need someone who knows a little bit about magic items and ancient times, I could help. I know how to work a library very well and if there is one in town, I would be sure to look up things about Karkauea if there IS anything."
Hex has had plenty of time to study and he hasn't heard of the Karkauea much, but it does sound familiar to him. Perhaps he had read something in the books at this library. If not, then he might need to enlist some help from people or even the Noctis Venator.

::She nods in response to the question Hex directed towards her. Placing a hand over her throat, she shakes her head no.
She listens as he talks about searching a library and thinks it sounds like a good idea to her. Even if they were not able to find anything in the books, surely there were others that used the library that might be able to help them.
Rising to her feet, she stretches and her hands touch her face to check her wounds. The bleeding had stopped, she was glad to see. Her injuries were not major so she felt she could press on before having them looked after.
Turing to Hex, she motions for him to lead the way. She had yet to find a library here, so she hoped he knew where he was going.::
Welcome to The Menagerie. We are a free role playing game with less rules and more freedom. After many years, a couple of hosts and a few different game systems, we feel that less is more. Players get to be truly creative, which in turn leads to more enjoyment in game.
We invite you to join us in crafting our world and look forward to making friends. Should you have any questions, feel free to post in our chat box or ask any of our members or staff.
May you enjoy your stay.
It must be said that this game is the product of continued dedication and friendship.

The Menagerie has enjoyed many incarnations, revamps, reimaginings and renovations and none of it would have been possible without the ongoing support of my friends, the players. Their unwavering loyalty and endless dedication to this project has been stellar.
I would like to thank all admin and staff past and present, in particular Tiberius.
I would like to thank friends and staff no longer with us, and to the few I hold most dear: John, Roland, Alex, Azriel and Jenkins.
